Evaluation of my project (2)

 I have started finding more reliable sources in explaining the historical context of Live Aid, BBC documentaries have also been reliable as it is a Public Service Broadcaster and therefore they will be monitored by OFCOM in making sure that their resources are reliable. Online newspaper articles have also been useful as they are also monitored by OFCOM. 

One area in which I am struggling is time management and how long I should spend researching just one topic. I either spend too long on it or not enough time at all. I am going to try and fix this by making a timeline in which I want to get things done.

My initial idea

In 2018, I watched the film Bohemian Rhapsody, having already been a Queen fan, I had a lot of interest in the ending scenes which portrayed Live Aid from Queen’s point of view.  Growing up I also listened to many of the other bands and artists which played on that day in 1985, therefore, I became interested in the event.  However, being born in 2004, my interest could only go as far as videos and accounts of the day. Listening to people who had spoken about the event got me thinking; would I ever be able to experience something similar?  My original plan was just to look into what Live Aid achieved but, while conducting my research, I developed my project into whether or not Live Aid would be able to take place again. Evaluation of my project so far (1)

 I have began my research into the Live Aid event itself, I am however struggling with locating reliable resources at this current time. I am also struggling with my question itself and how far to go into the topic of Live Aid itself. I am not sure how much I should focus on the event or the topic of whether Live Aid could happen again.

Outline of my progress through the EPQ

June-   Initial research into chosen topic of Live Aid and the legacy in which it created. I was still slightly unsure of this topic so I focused mainly on the event itself to begin with. I plan to use the BBC 2 documentary 'Live Aid: Against All Odds' to gain more knowledge about the event and the lead up to it.  July-  I plan to use articles from newspapers and entertainment websites accounting the day itself and what happened. I have changed my main title of my EPQ and now it will focus more on question of whether or not Live Aid could happen again.   I found out about the acts of the day and how Geldof managed to recruit them, I also found out the achievements of the event, e.g. the amount raised.  September-   I plan to s tart looking into articles focused on how Live Aid was run, this means focusing on the venue and what possibly went wrong.
